But It’s Cold Out There


Ah yes, the great Canadian winter. Trying to focus the binos with gloves on, not being able to hear bird calls because of the hat(s), sniffy noses and frozen toes.

We’re a hardy lot though, and won’t let a piddly -20C stop us from going to out look for birds. Even though the ground may be white or a dusty brown, we still have lots of birds to look for.

Simply Wild Canada has a general list of birds that can be seen during a Canadian winter, but for more accurate details by province, you can access the Winter Bird Lists for each province from the Alberta Winter Bird List website. (Scroll up).
