Rocky Mountain Drive

The Rocky Mountains are a great teacher.

They teach humility – their massive, magnificent presence puts a tiny insignificant human and their problems in perspective. They teach stability – they’ve been there for thousands of years in spite of how fast we whip through our daily lives, and will still be there long after we’ve gone.

It’s impossible to spend a day in them, and not be humbled by their silent grandeur.

Pictures taken July 15, 2011 on a drive from Seebe, AB, down Highway 40 to Longview, AB. The highest point of the drive was Highwood Pass, at an elevation of 2,210 metres, or 7,250 feet.
