Better late than never (I guess)…

Better late than never (I guess)…

So, for the first time since I have been posting stories on this blog, I am a few hours late – technically, I published a day late in most of Canada, but it is still the 17th here on the West Coast.

In any event, before the big fall rush, I thought I would simply post a few random bird photos that I took this summer in Vancouver’s Stanley Park. I hope you will enjoy them and please let me know if you would like to find out more about any one of these birds…

I have to say that I was wondering why the following American Robin remained perfectly still for over ten minutes with its juicy catch of worms (presumably for a bunch of starving little ones)…

… until I saw the following bird high up in a tree looking over the scene, probably to find its next meal (sorry for the grainy photo, but this individual was quite far from the ground):

  1. Thank you! You should indeed, especially since October is one of the better months to see all sorts of migratory birds, both on Lost Lagoon and along the Sea Wall.

Lovely photos Pierre. You’ve inspired me – next month when I go visit my daughter, who lives two short blocks from Stanley Park, I will definitely make the time for a bird stroll!
